TEA Members and advocates of education:
The Tumwater Education Association will be back at the bargaining table with the Tumwater School District on Thursday, August 25th, from 9am until 5pm. Please come show your support of our bargaining team at our WEA Chinook Uniserv offices on the corner of 5220 Capitol Boulevard and Trosper Road at 8:30am. Wear red and bring signs if you still have them.
Our top priorities from the TEA bargaining member survey from last Spring include:
- Securing a competitive salary increase commensurate with neighboring Districts.
- Improving student mental health support holistically.
- Increasing the number of substitutes while decreasing the frequency of teachers covering other classes.
- Reducing class sizes and increasing overload resources.
There will be a regularly scheduled school board meeting later on the evening of the 25th at 6pm. The Tumwater District Office is located at 621 Linwood Ave SW and the meeting is open to the public. Please wear red and show up in support of our members looking for a fair contract. If you want to sign up for public comment, you need to contact the district by noon using the link below:
